Job Description Quality Technician "D" Shift Hours: 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM (2-2-3 schedule) Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour *Good attendance and work performance is a must* *resumes and interviews* Position Summary The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that plastic products meet company and customer quality standards. This role involves inspection, testing, documentation, and collaboration with production teams to maintain consistent product quality. Key Responsibilities
- Perform in-process and final inspections of plastic containers and components
- Measure product dimensions using tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Conduct quality testing (e.g., leak tests, visual inspections, weight checks)
- Record and maintain accurate quality documentation and reports
- Identify defects and report non-conforming products
- Work with production staff to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence
- Ensure compliance with ISO standards and internal quality procedures
- Assist with audits and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of inspection areas
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED (technical training is a plus)
- Experience in manufacturing or quality control (plastics experience preferred)
- Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and work instructions
- Familiarity with measurement tools and inspection techniques
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in a production environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with blow molding or injection molding processes
- Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC)
- Prior experience in a regulated manufacturing environment
Work Environment
- Manufacturing plant setting with exposure to noise and machinery
- May require shift work (day/night) and occasional overtime
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
